Women’s Ministry Bible Studies:

Spring 2008

Galatians
Tuesday Mornings
Beginning March 4
9:30 AM

We will be using a study guide written by Timothy Kellor, Pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City. Each week we will have the opportunity to delve into the scriptures, get a deeper understanding of the Theological concepts involved and apply the principles to our daily lives.

2 Corinthians: Finding Strength in Weakness
Wednesday mornings
11:00-12:30
No child care available

Since life is about relationships—not perfect ones, but real ones, II Corinthians provides a practical study for all. Although Paul had founded the church at Corinth, "the Las Vegas" of its day, the people in that church had apparently rejected him. This letter attempts reconciliation, a skill we so desperately still need in the 21st century. Corinth had fallen in love with orators and the "super apostles." Compared to them, Paul was weak, foolish and an apparent failure. When he writes II Corinthians, we get to see inside this first-century Christian. The relational conflict between Paul and the Corinthian church becomes the medium for the book's message: Christ meets us at our points of desperate weakness not only before we're saved, but after. We have a Christ treasure in these clay pots. So, together, we on Wednesday mornings are discovering how Christ prepares us to meet our deepest relational needs.
Cost of book: $7.00

Images of Christ
Wednesday evenings
Beginning March 12
7:00–8:30 PM

What do you picture in your mind when you think of Jesus Christ? The good shepherd, light of the world, the vine? There are many images of Christ in Scripture and each reveals an important aspect of who Christ is. By helping us understand ten scriptural images of Christ, these studies will focus on our relationship to the reality behind the image—Christ himself.
Cost of book $7

To Live as Christ
Friday evenings - 7:00–9:00 PM (limited child care)
A Beth Moore study on the life of Paul
Beginning March 7

The study is To Live is Christ and is based on Paul…….”More than any other person Paul provides us an example of sold-out servant hood. Paul understood what it means to die daily, crucified with Christ. As a result, Paul shows us how to live fully as a bond slave to Christ. As you study the Book of Acts and the Epistles of Paul, you will come to know the characters personally. Most of all you will feel the challenge to follow Paul’s example just as he followed the example of Christ.”
Cost of the book is $15

Summer Studies

Swim in the Word and the Pool
Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent (Beth Moore’s Study)
Cost: $13
When: Tuesday mornings 9:30 am – 11:30 am starting June 10th
Where: in an SPEPer's home - see the SPEPnews for that information
Most Importantly: there is child care, but please let us know the ages and # of kids.

This is an in-depth look at 15 Psalms. Just as a song or poem can express feelings of fear, doubt, hope and joy, these 15 Psalms model how study participants can voice their own petitions and praises to our God, who is always available to hear us.
Themes such as unity, joy and gratitude, redemption, repentance, the power of blessings, facing ridicule and more are explored in detail. Modern-day believers can learn much from these treasured Psalms in their journey toward greater intimacy with God. (7 sessions).

Extra Fun: After the study you are welcome to stay, eat lunch, play and take a dip in the pool!

** Peanut Allergy Alert **
If you pack a lunch or snack please make it peanut free as my kids are all allergic to peanuts.
